Our Ranch

Our ranch is a modest 168 acres located in the heart of the Santa Rita Appellatia. The Santa Rita Appellatia is well known for its delightful Pinot Noir. Although we are not vintners, we do enjoy the ambiance of the area and are blessed with several wineries as neighbors producing some awesome grapes. We are 12 miles west of Solvang, a small Danish village providing tourists with authentic Danish food, souvenirs and wonderful events such as summer outdoor plays. We have approximately 100 acres of farmland which we use to grow our hay, both oat and alfalfa.

Our Ranch - California Lowlines

We also have approximately 60 acres of pasture where we keep our herd. Water in California is at a premium as the rainy season is short and sweet. Our rainfall rarely exceeds 10-15 inches per year. We are delighted to have a strong, deep well capable of providing us with all the water we need for our hay production. The well was tested to 3000 GPM and it looks like a veritable water fall at this rate of water discharge. We are blessed with great weather most of the year allowing us to implement a year round calving program for a manageable workload and a steady supply of fresh animals. We welcome you to visit us anytime for a tour of our ranch and our awesome herd. Please call us in advance so we can make arrangements to receive you.
